Paying to much at the pump? Think again…

Summer time is coming, and with that, families are planning trips to the beach and vacation resorts. Meanwhile, our congressional friends in Washington are working to perhaps ease the pain at the pump.

Democrats who took control of Congress in 2006 know that. And that's one reason some Democrats want the Energy Department to stop stockpiling oil in the nation's petroleum reserve. But analysts believe this act will only make a small, temporary dent in prices. Other Democrats are asking the White House to cut off arms sales to oil producing countries that refuse to boost output.

Cause and effect? Lets think about it for a moment, the oil exporting countries are willing to boost their output, but naturally and as a result of the credit crunch, they can't find any buyers for their crude oil because the buyers can't get credit from the banks to buy more crude.

Presidential candidate John McCain believes that suspending the 18-cent federal tax on a gallon of gasoline. Naturally, we question this logic because invoking a spur in gasoline is a demand we don’t want to see. Especially barring the fact there is a credit problem.
