Nintendo's Wii game console outsold Sonys PlayStation 3 by 3-to-1 in Japan in March but its DS handheld machine fell behind the PlayStation Portable for the first time in six months.
IPC's New Eectronic Tading Platform
IPC Systems Inc., a provider of communications solutions to financial services firms, launched its Ethernet Connection Service, which provides an electronic trading platform on its global network.
ECS is designed specifically for electronic trading. Trading firms can choose from a range of scalable Ethernet private lines, from 1 to 100 MBs. Bandwidth is dedicated across IPC's entire network, which ensures a low-latency and secure connection, according to a press statement. ECS simplifies how inter-dealer brokers, market makers, exchanges and algorithmic trading firms get connected to their primary trading partners and to global capital markets.

Moscow State University (MSU) and IBM announced details of an agreement to install a Blue Gene/P supercomputer at the Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics. The new supercomputer, the first installation of the world famous Blue Gene computer in Russia, will be used for fundamental research in nanotechnology, new materials and life sciences.
